Voodoo Festival 2007
The lineup for this year’s Voodoo Festival in New Orleans was released last week, and it looks pretty sweet. This year the festival will take place from October 26-28, expanding from a 2 to 3 day experience for the first time.

Headliners include the reunited Rage Against The Machine and the revamped Smashing Pumpkins (I can’t call them reunited without the inclusion of guitarist James Iha and bassist D’arcy, it’s only half the band with just Billy and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin). Other 90’s survivors on the bill include Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals and The Black Crowes.
The festival also did a fantastic job of adding some of the best current alternative bands to the lineup as well, such as Wilco, Kings of Leon and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Also appearing on the bill are newer artists Fall Out Boy, Gym Glass Heros, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Paolo Nutini, Motion City Soundtrack and Coheed and Cambria. Diversity will also show up with Indie artists Spoon and Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, rap/hip artists Common, M.I.A. and La Coka Nostra w/ members of House of Pain, late 80’s one hit wonder Sinead O’ Connor and of course lots of jazz, funk and great local New Orleans music.
Right now tickets are only $100, which is a steal, considering many big 3 day festivals are easily around $200 a piece. Plus New Orleans still needs help, so why not venture down to the Big Easy and enjoy lots of music, food and culture.
