R.E.M. – Supernatural Superserious

R.E.M. – Supernatural Superserious

R.E.M. is currently streaming the first single from their upcoming release Accelerate, which comes out April 1.
You can check out the track, “Supernatural Superseious”, on R.E.M.’s official site.
It’s a pretty standard and straight forward rock song, but it’s still sweet. I think it’s a catchy tune.
Last month the band shot the video for “Supernatural Superserious” in New York City at a restaurant and a sex shop.
Here’s a brief behind the scenes look at the video shoot.

The Breeders North American Tour

The Breeders North American Tour

The Deal sister’s will be kicking off a rather lengthy tour after the band’s performance at this year’s Coachella Festival on April 25.
The band will be on the road in support of their latest album Mountain Battles, which comes out on April 8. This is pretty much the first tour that the band has done in like over decade, not including some live shows in 2001-2002. And, Mountain Battles is the first album that the band has recorded since 2001’s Title TK, so probably catching one of their shows and/or the new album could be a good idea.

Pearl Jam: Bonnaroo Headliners, Supporting Obama

Pearl Jam: Bonnaroo Headliners, Supporting Obama

I can’t help myself from posting some Pearl Jam updates, since there will be a big announcement from the band tonight and it’s Super Tuesday, and Pearl Jam being the band that they are, have picked a candidate to support.
The band promises a big announcement late tonight, and many are speculating that it will be Pearl Jam headlining this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Rumours about PJ and Bonnaroo have being floating around for years, but it picked up some momentum for Pearl Jam fans last fall when bassist Jeff Ament gave a speech at the University of Montana where …read more

Pearl Jam – Yield

Pearl Jam – Yield

This past Sunday, February 3, was a pretty big day…and I’m not talking about the Super Bowl.
It marked the 10th Anniversary of my favorite Pearl Jam album, Yield.
Released on February 3, 1998, Yield was the band’s fifth album and marked somewhat a return to the band’s more straight forward roots, following the huge success of Vitalogy and the underestimated No Code.
Most of the album was influenced by Daniel Quinn’s novel Ishamael, most notably “Do The Evolution” and the recording was captured on the documentary Single Video Theory.
Yield kicks off with a bang during “Brain of J”, which is apparently about conspiracy …read more

Seven Mary Three New Album

Seven Mary Three New Album

I was never really a fan of Seven Mary Three, but they’re still from the 90’s, so that makes them eligible to mention. Besides, I actually forgot about these guys, but when I noticed that they’re releasing a new album, it did spark my attention.
I really thought that Seven Mary Three had been done for a while, but it turns out that they never went away. Which makes me look foolish.
Anyways, the band will be releasing their sixth studio album, entitled Day&Nightdriving,on February 19. However, while I was snooping around for more info on the new release, I discovered that it is …read more

FYI: The Lemonheads

FYI: The Lemonheads

Since It’s A Shame About Ray is getting the extended and remastered treatment on March 25, it seems like a good time for an FYI on The Lemonheads.

Evan Dando and Ben Deily formed the band in 1986 while in high school in Boston and the band was briefly known as The Whelps.
Laughing All The Way To The Cleaners was the band’s first recording in 1986.
Tanng! Records released three album by The Lemonheads: Hate Your Friends, Creator, Lick.
The band signed to Atlantic Records and released Lovely in 1990.
After the failure of Lovely, Dando went to Australia and wrote some songs that …read more
